Police in  Greater Victoria  are looking to identify these 2 white males who have been fraudulently using a stolen credit card. The card had been taken from a car in the Sidney area.

Sidney/North Saanich RCMP are investigating the fraudulent use of credit cards at Victoria Distillers located at 9891 Seaport Place, Sidney, BC. that occurred on August 17 & 28, 2018. Investigators are looking to identify the male & female in these photos.

Oak bay police are investigating a case of a car jacking. It took place at about 2.30am on the 19 August 2018 in the 900 block of Island road Oak bay. The victim was delivering newspapers when he left his car a maroon Oldsmobile.

When he returned to it the suspect pushed him to the ground, got into the car and drove off towards Mcneill Ave

The vehicle was found 2 days later in the 1200 block of Quadra Street, but the suspect remains at large. He is described as; male, wearing dark jacket and trousers.

Sidney/ North Saanich RCMP are investigating a theft of a sculpture valued between $20-$40,000. It was stolen from the Mary Winspear Centre on August 3^rd from the “Sidney Sculpture by the Sea” display. The sculpture features quartz crystal bears, a tree made from tiger-eye, a quartz fish, and sits on a base of BC Jade. Its dimensions are 14” tall, 8” wide, 8” deep and weighs 25 pounds.

A break and enter occurred between June 22^nd-25^th to a house in the Haro Road area. The suspect entered the property using tools taken to the house. Once inside the property they stole jewellery. The items stolen include a diamond necklace, several watches and the unusual necklaces pictured. One of the watches was a Gold Omega watch engraved with the words “All my love Carol 1970”. There was also a silver pocket watch inscribed with “Cummins Alberta”.

Elder abuse refers to any of several forms of maltreatment of an older person by a caregiver, family member, spouse, or friend.

Categories of elder abuse

There are three separate categories of elder abuse:

• Domestic elder abuse usually takes place in the older adult’s home or in the home of the caregiver. The abuser is often a relative, close friend, or paid companion.
• Institutional abuse refers to abuse that takes place in a residential home (such as a nursing home), foster home, or assisted-living facility. The abuser has a financial or contractual obligation to care for the older adult.
• Self-neglect is behaviour of an older adult that threatens his or her own health or safety. Self-neglect is present when an older adult refuses or fails to provide himself or herself with adequate food, water, clothing, shelter, personal hygiene, medicine, and safety precautions.

Acts of elder abuse

Elder abuse can include:

• Acts of violence, such as hitting, beating, pushing, shoving, shaking, slapping, kicking, pinching, choking, or burning. The inappropriate use of medicines or physical restraints, force-feeding, and physical punishment of any kind also are examples of physical abuse.
• Forced sexual contact or sexual contact with any person incapable of giving consent. It includes unwanted touching and all types of sexual assault or battery, such as rape, sodomy, forced nudity, and sexually explicit photography.
• Emotional or psychological abuse, such as name-calling, insults, threats, intimidation, humiliation, and harassment. Treating an older person like a baby, giving an older person the “silent treatment,” and isolating him or her from family, friends, or regular activities are examples of emotional or psychological abuse.
• Neglect, such as failing to provide an older person with food, clothing, personal shelter, or other essentials, such as medical care or medicines. Neglect can also include failing to pay nursing home or assisted-living facility costs for an older person if you have a legal responsibility to do so.
• Abandonment or desertion of an older person by a person who has the physical or legal responsibility for providing care.
• Illegal or improper use of an older person’s funds, property, or assets. This includes forging an older person’s signature, stealing money or possessions, or tricking an older person into signing documents that transfer funds, property, or assets.

Victoria police continue to look for two suspects who robbed a male youth and his friend of their longboards in Quadra Heights playground on May 1, 2018, just before 9pm.

The victim and his friend were in the playground when the 2 suspects came into the area, took the 2 longboards (as seen in the pictures) and ran out of the park

The victim gave chase catching up to one of the suspects.  As he attempted to get one of the long boards back the second suspect hit him in the head with the other longboard. The victim fell to the ground and suffered life altering injuries. The two suspects ran away leaving the victim lying on the ground.

Both suspects are described as aboriginal, between 15-16 years old, about 5′ 3″ and of average build. One wore a red baseball cap.

At 3AM on Monday, April 16, 2018, an unknown male, dressed all in black and wearing a neoprene mask with Skull outline on it, broke into a residence in a Sooke trailer park. The male threatened those inside with a steel rod and then stole a small fire safe, which contained cash, valuable coins, and jewellery.

The suspect asked for the safe specifically and did not take anything else suggesting the home invasion was premeditated.

Victoria Police are looking to identify a male suspect who attempted to steal a purse from a female in the James Bay area on November 8, 2017. It is believed that the same person was responsible for trying car doors in a parking lot and banging on a window of a residence in the same area.

The suspect was believed to be Aboriginal, 5’10”-6’0” tall, short dark hair and clean-shaven. He wore a dark windbreaker with a light grey hood and light grey pants.

Victoria Police are looking to identify the male in the picture who sexually assaulted a female on a BC Transit Bus on November 11^th.

The suspect is a white man believed to be in his 40’s, clean-shaven, average build with possibly having blue eyes. At the time of the offence, he was wearing a dark zip up jacket with dark hood, dark denim jeans, carrying a black backpack. His cheeks also had possible acne scarring.

Victoria Police department are trying to identify the man in the picture.He is responsible for an assault on a senior in Hillside Mall parking lot. The suspect had taken it upon himself to advise the victim that he was not allowed to smoke in the parking lot. The victim went to extinguish his cigarette and as he did, the suspect punched the victim in the face causing him to fall to the ground and hit his head.The suspect drove off in a dark coloured Acura MDX SUV. Victoria Police are continuing an investigation into a sexual assault that took place in Stadacona Park on September 21, 2017 at approximately 9:57pm.

The lone female victim was approached by an unknown male who then attacked and sexually assaulted her. The victim fought back and was able to break free to safety.

The suspect is described as a mid-30’s White male, approximately 5’10” to 6’0” tall, scruffy facial hair, and was last seen wearing dark clothing and a baseball cap.
