Victoria Police are looking to identify the male in the picture, who was caught on camera graffiti tagging the daytime starboard beacon in the Victoria Harbour near the Johnson Street Bridge.

The suspect was rather determined, as he had to swim out to the Beacon and climbed the ladder to leave his criminal tag.

Saanich Police are looking for this suspect in relation to separate cases of theft from Vehicles, theft of electric bicycles and a mobility scooter They occurred in underground garages in the Tillicum and Quadra areas.

Saanich Police are investigating two robberies that happened over the weekend.
The first happened at about 5:15AM on May 25, 2019 at the 7-11 located at 10 Burnside Road West. A male entered the store, produced a gun to the store employee and demanded money. He then fled on foot heading west on Burnside Road.

The suspect is described as being a Caucasian male, about 40 years old. He wore a black leather jacket with a hoody underneath, dark pants and shoes, and sunglasses.

The second happened the following morning, on May 26th. This robbery took place at the 7-11 at 3775 Carey Road at about 4:30AM. Two suspects, a male and a female, entered the store and approached two employees who were behind the counter, demanding money. One of the suspects held a gun during the robbery. They then fled on foot down Harriet Road towards the Galloping Goose Trail.

The male suspect was Caucasian, 25-30 years old, skinny and about 5’8” tall. He wore a black hoody and had his face partially covered with a bandana. The female suspect was tall (6’0” to 6’3”), skinny and wore a black jacket with a D/C logo on the front. She also had her face covered by a bandana.

In both cases, the suspects fled with an undisclosed amount of money along with cigarettes. Thankfully none of the store employees were physically harmed during these crimes.

At this time, police have not identified any of the suspects and have not ruled out that the two robberies may be connected. Both stores were examined by our Forensic Identification team and our detectives have taken over the investigations.

At about 0400 (am) hours on May 2, 2019, a robbery occurred at the Howard Johnson Hotel and Suites on Elk Lake Drive. Two masked male suspects entered the hotel and quickly jumped over the front counter to the staff area where the lone employee was working.

The males forcefully restrained the employee resulting in him suffering injuries from the event. A substantial amount of currency was taken and the employee was left restrained while the suspects departed. An alert hotel guest heard the calls for help and assisted the employee at that point.

Victoria police are asking for help to solve the mystery of the shattered windows at the Tudor House Liquor Store.

5 Custom panes were broken during the night of Jan 27^th. It is believed small metal objects were thrown at the windows causing them to smash and resulted in over $5000 in damage.

The West Shore RCMP are currently investigating a break and enter and theft that took place on February 9th at about 3:48 am. Two suspects are seen breaking into a convenience store located on Happy Valley Road in Langford.  Video surveillance shows one of the suspects hauling out the ATM machine.

Police are requesting the public’s help in identifying these two suspects.

Suspect #1: wearing a baseball cap, jacket and long pants.

Suspect #2: Wearing a hoodie with the hood up, winter jacket with possible fur collared hood, and long pants.

Similarly,  On February 2nd just after 5:00 am, the West Shore RCMP received a report from a different convenience store on West Shore Parkway in Langford. The store employee reported an unknown male running into the store placing a tow wire around the ATM which was attached to a white F150 truck. The suspect then runs back to the truck and attempts to haul the ATM away using the tow rope. This attempt failed however when the tow wire snapped and the suspect took off empty handed. The corresponding file number for this incident is West Shore File 2019-1783.

Langford “Carjacking”

On December 17th, 2018 at 9:00 pm West Shore RCMP received a 911 call of a robbery and theft of vehicle near the Millstream Village McDonalds in Langford. Police responded and located an 52 year old male victim who reported being “carjacked” while sitting idle in a parking lot.

The robbery occurred when the suspect opened the victim’s car door and grabbed him by the shoulders throwing him out of the vehicle onto the ground. The suspect drove away nearly running over the victim. The victim sustained minor injuries to his wrist, elbow, and hip, and was transported to hospital.

On January 1, 2019, West Shore RCMP responded to an overnight break and enter at the Eagle Creek Tim Hortons. Video surveillance shows a lone suspect breaking into the store at 12:18 a.m. wearing a black hoody, black jeans, grey shoes, orange gloves and face mask.

Stolen was approximately $200 in cash and several Tim Horton’s brand mugs and coffee products.

On Dec 17^th a music shop downtown was broken into, Victoria Police Department are investigating the crime and would like your help.

The suspect pried open a door, entered the store and stole the two guitars pictured.

The suspect is described as white about 5′ 7” tall, skinny build and was wearing a red hoodie that had a green jacket over it. He carried a backpack and had a black baseball on.

Saanich police are trying to identify the male pictured, as he is a suspect in a break and enter. The crime happened in November in the 10 Mile point area. The house owner disturbed the male and chased him out of the house. When challenged, the suspect returned some of the property he had stolen but got away with a Mac book air. The vehicle he drove away in was stolen. The suspect is described as white, mid 30’s with a big nose. He wore a multi coloured toque, large brown/tan winter coat and dark pants.

Victoria Police would like help in identifying the man in the picture. He stole a bottle of tequila from a downtown liquor store.

He threatened the staff member with a syringe and what he said was a used needle. He stole the bottle and brandished the needle at them to make good his escape.

The witness described him as First nations with a very distinctive red tattoo on the left hand side of his neck.

Oak bay police are investigating a case of a car jacking. It took place at about 2.30am on the 19 August 2018 in the 900 block of Island road Oak bay. The victim was delivering newspapers when he left his car a maroon Oldsmobile.

When he returned to it the suspect pushed him to the ground, got into the car and drove off towards Mcneill Ave

The vehicle was found 2 days later in the 1200 block of Quadra Street, but the suspect remains at large. He is described as; male, wearing dark jacket and trousers.

Sidney/ North Saanich RCMP are investigating a theft of a sculpture valued between $20-$40,000. It was stolen from the Mary Winspear Centre on August 3^rd from the “Sidney Sculpture by the Sea” display. The sculpture features quartz crystal bears, a tree made from tiger-eye, a quartz fish, and sits on a base of BC Jade. Its dimensions are 14” tall, 8” wide, 8” deep and weighs 25 pounds.

A break and enter occurred between June 22^nd-25^th to a house in the Haro Road area. The suspect entered the property using tools taken to the house. Once inside the property they stole jewellery. The items stolen include a diamond necklace, several watches and the unusual necklaces pictured. One of the watches was a Gold Omega watch engraved with the words “All my love Carol 1970”. There was also a silver pocket watch inscribed with “Cummins Alberta”.
